Grain whisky aged for over 12 years undergoes further maturation at Saburomaru, enhancing and balancing the flavors. [About "The Sun" Series] "The Sun" is the crowning achievement of Saburomaru Distillery's blended whisky series. This blend uses Saburomaru's malt spirit and the distillery's aged grain whisky. Previously released expressions have all utilized spirit matured in Mizunara oak barrels and casks crafted at the local cooperage in Toga City, Toyama Prefecture. Another distinctive feature of "The Sun" is the extensive use of casks, such as those matured in sherry and wine barrels, contributing to the product's unique smoky and aromatic flavors.
