Amrut "Naarangi" Single Malt Whisky is an innovative expression from Amrut Distilleries, a pioneering Indian whisky producer based in Bangalore. The name "Naarangi," derived from the Kannada word for orange, reflects its distinctive infusion with vibrant orange notes, marking it as the world's first single malt whisky to incorporate orange expressions in this manner. This non-age-statement (NAS) whisky achieves 50% ABV through a meticulous aging process: it is matured for three years in casks previously infused with Oloroso Sherry, matured wine, and orange peel, followed by an additional three-year finishing in another cask. The result is a rich profile dominated by orange and sherry influences, complemented by aromas of toasted oak, dry leaves, chocolate, mint, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla.
