Description

Ardnahoe Distillery, founded in 2018 on Islay by Stewart Laing and his sons from Hunter Laing & Co., revives traditional whisky-making with a modern twist. Named after the Gaelic for "Height of the Hollow," it's nestled between Caol Ila and Bunnahabhain, emphasizing peated styles rooted in the island's heritage. As Islay's ninth distillery, it started production in 2019, focusing on quality through small-batch distillation and sherry cask maturation, blending family legacy in independent bottling with innovative perspectives.

Ardnahoe Bholsa is a peated Islay single malt, matured mainly in Oloroso sherry casks at 50% ABV, non-chill filtered, with no added color.

Nosing: Red fruits like currants and plums, walnuts, orange zest, and gentle peat smoke.

Palate: Raisins, dates, ripe plums, dark chocolate, underpinned by Islay peat and subtle pepper.

Finish: Long and peppery, with lingering smoky spices, red fruits, and a hint of salinity.
