This whisky was distilled on June 14, 2014, and bottled after 10 years of maturation on February 10, 2021. It is a single cask release (Cask No. 250) matured in a first-fill Oloroso Sherry Butt oak cask. This cask type originates from Spanish Oloroso Sherry barrels, imparting rich influences of dried fruits and nuts. The bottling is limited to 647 bottles, with a cask strength alcohol content of 60.0% ABV and a volume of 700ml. The product employs natural coloring and non-chill filtration processes, ensuring the retention of the maximum original characteristics and complexity in the spirit.
Tasting Notes
Color: Presents a deep amber hue with reddish highlights, radiant like a brick-red gemstone.
Aroma: Dominated by notes of black cherries and dried figs as the foundation, accompanied by subtle salty mineral scents and warm plum aromas, showcasing intense layers of dried fruits. Reviews of similar releases indicate that Oloroso Sherry influences often bring forth abundant sweet dark fruit fragrances.
Palate: Upon entry, concentrated dried fruit flavors emerge, accompanied by a sweet and smooth surface reminiscent of sugar-free toffee. Subsequently, oak tannins and spices gradually take prominence, interwoven with roasted coffee notes, forming rich layers. The mouthfeel is full-bodied and warm, with oak influences providing a dry and astringent sensation.
