Distillery History:Glen Scotia was founded in 1832 in Campbeltown, one of only three remaining active distilleries in the former “Whiskyopolis”. The distillery produces medium-peated spirit for only about one month each year and is known for its oily texture and maritime character.

Whisky Introduction:Glen Scotia 2011 Campbeltown Saga Release No. 1 is the inaugural bottling of the series, distilled in 2011 from rare medium-peated spirit and matured in first-fill bourbon casks. Bottled at 50% without chill-filtration, it celebrates Campbeltown’s golden era with classic coastal smoke and salted caramel notes.

Tasting Notes:Nosing: Gentle smoke with seaweed, caramel, green apple, pineapple, vanilla and maritime notes.Palate: Oily and full – sweet-salty interplay of seaweed, pepper, peat, nuts and spice.Finish: Medium-long with lingering smoke, sea salt and soft sweetness.
