雖說低地區只有廖廖無幾的威士忌酒廠，但在威士忌歷史上有著舉足輕重的地位，在調和式威士忌興起的時間，低地酒廠作為使用柱式連續蒸餾的先軀，大量生產輕巧純淨的穀物威士忌，使其成為當時行業的基石，而其特別的輕盈花香風格亦保留至今。這次的主角 Glenkinchie 和大部分酒廠一樣亦曾經作為調和式威士忌的基酒，近年作為單一麥芽銷售，早期的10年陳已經改為現今的12年。
