Winery Background:Domaine Patrick Javillier is a family-run winery in Meursault, Burgundy, established in 1945 by Raymond Javillier with just 2 hectares of vineyards. In 1974, Patrick Javillier took over, expanding to 11 hectares. Today, the third generation, Marion and Pierre Emmanuel, assists in operations. The winery is renowned for crafting high-quality Chardonnay and limited Pinot Noir, emphasizing Burgundy’s terroir with precise winemaking techniques that balance fruit, minerality, and oak influence.

Vineyard and Terroir:Les Tillets is a high-slope vineyard in Meursault with southeast exposure. Its soil consists of brown limestone mixed with clay and hard limestone. The vines, aged 30-70 years, lend depth and complexity to the wine. This elevated terroir imparts pronounced minerality and freshness, making Les Tillets more refined and elegant compared to the richer style of typical Meursault, resembling the finesse of Puligny-Montrachet.

Winemaking Process:

• Grapes are hand-harvested from six plots in Les Tillets.
• The wine is aged for 18 months in a mix of new and used oak barrels (approximately 30% new), imparting subtle oak flavors without overpowering the fruit.
