Château Haut-Brion, located in Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux, traces its origins to 1521, making it Bordeaux's oldest continuously operating winery. In 1525, Jean de Pontac acquired it through marriage and built the château in 1549. It gained fame in 1663 when noted by Samuel Pepys in London. Classified as a First Growth in 1855, it was the only non-Médoc estate included. Purchased by Clarence Dillon in 1935, it remains family-owned. Le Clarence de Haut-Brion, the second wine since 2007 (formerly Bahans Haut-Brion), honors Dillon and matures faster while echoing the grand vin's elegance.

The 2016 Le Clarence de Haut-Brion is a Bordeaux red blend (51.3% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13.1% Cabernet Franc, 2.6% Petit Verdot), showing power and elegance in a strong vintage.

Nosing: Ripe, fresh bouquet of just-picked dark fruits like blackcurrant and cherry, with minerals, crushed stones, spicy notes, and subtle oak hints.

Palate: Medium to full-bodied, smooth and juicy with black fruit, supple tannins, earthy accents, licorice, and balanced acidity for refined depth.

Finish: Long and minerally, lingering with intense dark fruit, subtle dryness, and satisfying tension.
