Distillery History:The Macallan was founded in 1824 in Speyside, Scotland, and is renowned for its meticulous sherry cask maturation and elegant style. The annual A Night on Earth series celebrates New Year traditions from different cultures around the world, combining craftsmanship with storytelling.

Whisky Introduction:The Macallan A Night on Earth – The First Light is the fourth release in the series, inspired by New Zealand’s first sunrise of the new year. Matured in a combination of sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks with a touch of ex-bourbon, it offers delicate sweetness with berry, honey and festive notes – a radiant limited edition for sharing and celebration.

Tasting Notes:Nosing: Caramel and fired icing sugar suggesting pavlova and coconut, with a fleeting scent of Manuka honey.Palate: Rich caramel with mellow baking spices, vanilla ice cream, pavlova, icing sugar, stone fruits, subtle coconut and Manuka honey.Finish: Sweet and fruity with mellow spice and toasted oak.
