This limited-edition expression, developed in collaboration with the premium tea brand JING, draws inspiration from the intricate flavors of Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea, a rare oolong variety from Guangdong, China. The partnership underscores The Macallan's commitment to innovation, blending the artistry of whisky craftsmanship with the refined elegance of tea culture to create a unique sensory experience.
At 43.9% ABV, this whisky is presented in a 750ml bottle with eco-conscious packaging, incorporating repurposed tea leaves to emphasize sustainability. The concept originated from the Macallan team's exploration of JING's Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea, known for its lush dessert wine aromas and exotic fruit notes.
