The Taittinger Brut Réserve is a distinguished champagne crafted by the Taittinger family, one of the last family-owned and operated Grand Marque Champagne houses in France. This champagne is known for its quality, elegance, and the meticulous process behind its production.
The Brut Réserve is composed of a blend of Chardonnay (40%), Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier (60% combined), sourced from over 35 different vineyards across the Champagne region. Each grape variety contributes its unique qualities to the champagne, with Chardonnay providing elegance and finesse, and the Pinots adding structure and power.
This champagne undergoes a first fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and fruit character. After blending, it is aged for three to four years in Taittinger’s cellars, far exceeding the legal requirement of 15 months for non-vintage champagne. This extended aging process allows the flavors to mature and meld beautifully, resulting in a finely balanced champagne.
Taittinger Brut Réserve boasts a brilliant golden-yellow color and fine, persistent bubbles. Its aroma is expressive, delivering fragrances of fruit and brioche alongside subtle notes of peach, white flowers, and vanilla. On the palate, it is lively and fresh, yet rich and full-bodied, with flavors of fresh fruit and honey.
This champagne is versatile in pairing, making it an excellent choice for any occasion, from formal dinners to casual gatherings. It pairs particularly well with seafood, light appetizers, and can also be enjoyed on its own as a refined aperitif.
