The 2021 summer growing season was mild, with even andcool daily temperatures throughout. Enhanced by good rainsprovided during the winter and spring of 2020, our vineyardsgrew wonderful canopies and developed well-formed grapebunches. As a result of this long flavour development cycle inthe vineyard, 2021’s signature is wines of high aromatic liftwith densely coloured tints and exceptional balance.Lifted aromas of red currant, pomegranate, red cherry and redplum. The secondary aromas of spice and earthy, such as clove,star anise, bay leaf and wild thyme add complexity.The palate is medium to full-bodied with a dense core of plushred-berried fruits whilst leaning towards the savoury side. Firmtannins envelope the mouth and provide depth and aplushness with an elongated finish. The 2021 Steading isindicative of the harvest from low yielding old bush vines thatproduced high quality wines.Pair with game meats poultry or Chinese roast pork.Enjoy at its best from 5-15 years.
