Balvenie 21 Year Old Port Wood - 70cl/40%

The Balvenie Distillery was founded in 1892 by William Grant in Dufftown, Speyside, Scotland, next to Glenfiddich. Whisky production began in 1893 using second-hand stills from Lagavulin and Glen Albyn. Still family-owned by William Grant & Sons, it is one of the last distilleries practising the “Five Rare Crafts”: growing and floor-malting its own barley, onsite coppersmith, traditional copper stills, malt master, and whisky tuners. Long-time Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE has shaped its character since 1962, preserving handcrafted excellence.

The Balvenie 21 Year Old PortWood Finish is a single malt Scotch whisky matured for 21 years. After initial ageing in traditional oak casks, it receives a second maturation in ex-Port pipes that previously held fine Port wines. This PortWood finish adds remarkable complexity, rich fruit, spice and silky depth while preserving the signature Balvenie honey character.

Nosing: Fruity perfume of ripe raisins, dried fruits, honey, vanilla and nutty dryness.Palate: Creamy and silky, refined with rich honey, orchard fruits, spice, toasted nuts and subtle balsamic notes.Finish: Long, gentle and elegantly nutty, with lingering sweet fruit and soft oak.
