Distillery History:Bruichladdich Distillery was founded in 1881 on Islay and is renowned for its whiskies. In 2011 it launched The Botanist, distilled in the unique Lomond still “Ugly Betty”. The gin combines nine classic botanicals with 22 foraged Islay plants, reflecting the island’s terroir.

Spirit Introduction:The Botanist Islay Dry Gin is a progressive dry gin distilled at 46% using 31 botanicals (including 22 native Islay foraged ingredients). Slow-distilled in a Lomond still, it offers complex floral, herbal and citrus layers – an elegant expression of Islay craftsmanship in gin form.

Tasting Notes:Nosing: Fresh juniper with citrus peel, mint, floral, herbal and soft pine notes.Palate: Clean and smooth – juniper-led with citrus, pepper, liquorice and floral complexity.Finish: Medium-long with lingering citrus, chamomile and faint vanilla.
