Distillery History:Bowmore was founded in 1779 on Islay and is the island’s oldest working distillery. Known for its moderate peat (around 25 ppm) and maritime character, the 12 Year Old is the core expression that balances gentle smoke with fruit and chocolate notes.

Whisky Introduction:The Bowmore 12 Year Old is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at 40%, it offers approachable Islay peat, lemon, dark chocolate and dried fruit – an ideal introduction to the distillery’s classic style.

Tasting Notes:Nosing: Gentle peat with lemon peel, dark chocolate, dried fruit and maritime notes.Palate: Smooth and medium-bodied – peat, sea salt, chocolate, dried fruit and light sweetness.Finish: Medium-long with lingering smoke and gentle sweetness.
