Producer History:Château Haut Veyrac is a family-owned estate in Saint-Émilion on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, run by Guillaume Claverie. Situated on clay-limestone soils, the château focuses on Merlot-dominant Grand Cru wines produced with sustainable practices, careful harvesting and precise vinification, offering excellent quality and value in the appellation.
Wine Introduction:Château Haut Veyrac 2018 is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru made primarily from Merlot (around 80-85%) with Cabernet Franc. The warm 2018 vintage produced ripe, concentrated fruit. Aged in a mix of tanks and barrels, it delivers opulent red and black fruit with soft tannins. Awarded 2 stars and a Coup de Cœur by Guide Hachette, it is a generous and elegant expression of Right Bank Bordeaux.
Tasting Notes:Aroma: Ripe red and black fruits – plum, black cherry, cassis – with violet and soft spice.Palate: Full and rounded with dark cherry, blueberry, blackcurrant, soft tannins, solid structure and notes of cedar and spice.Finish: Medium-long and elegant with lingering fruit and fine mineral character.
