Château Clinet 2009 - 75cl

Château Clinet is located in the Pomerol appellation on Bordeaux’s Right Bank and is one of the oldest estates in the region, with vineyard traces dating back to 1595 and documented on maps from 1785. Situated on the prestigious Pomerol plateau with Merlot-dominant plantings, the estate has been family-owned for generations. Under current management by Ronan Laborde, it has maintained its reputation for producing rich yet elegant Pomerol wines.

The 2009 vintage is a blend of 85% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a classic great vintage for Pomerol, awarded 100 points by Robert Parker and considered one of the finest wines ever produced at the estate. Powerful, concentrated and opulent with silky tannins, it offers excellent aging potential and opens beautifully with decanting.

Tasting NotesNosing: Rich and opulent with blueberry pie, blackberry, black raspberry, truffle, licorice, incense, wood smoke and dark chocolate, lifted by rose petals and subtle minerality – deep and seductive.Palate: Full-bodied and viscous with massive fruit concentration, layers of blueberry, black cherry, plum, dark chocolate and espresso; silky sweet tannins, fresh acidity and powerful yet balanced texture.Finish: Long, robust and warming with lingering black fruit, truffle, spices and light smokiness, ending on dried herbs and refined silky tannins.
