Estate History:
Domaine de la Folie sits at Chagny, on the northern edge of the Côte Chalonnaise, looking toward Rully. About 13 hectares; Clémence and Baptiste Dubrulle, the fifth generation, have run it since 2010. Slopes face east or north-east, a hedge against warming. Besides Rully whites they bottle a Bourgogne Aligoté monopole. The style is traditional and site-first, with modest new oak. Clos du Chaigne is among their top whites.

Wine Introduction:
Clos du Chaigne is a Rully Premier Cru monopole: east-facing clay-limestone, richer than village Clos la Folie, with more depth and ageing capacity. 100% Chardonnay, hand-picked, low-pressure press, careful settling, almost no SO2 in ferment and élevage, about 20% new barrels. Côte Chalonnaise 2024 whites are slimmer, acid-clear and terroir-readable. Older bottles from the site (a 2002 still lively) show it can last. Versus the Aligoté monopole, this is 1er Cru Chardonnay—roundness with tension.

Tasting Notes:
Nosing: Precise—citrus, green apple and white flowers, oak well knit.
Palate: Textured, round attack; lemon, grapefruit and inner energy.
Finish: Broad and medium-long, mineral with a flicker of cream.
