Domaine de la Garreliere "Cendrillon" Blanc 2022

Estate History:
Domaine de la Garrelière sits near Richelieu in Touraine, Loire Valley, and is run by Pascale and François Plouzeau. The cellar dates back some 370 years; the vineyards are certified organic (Ecocert) and biodynamic (Biodyvin). Cendrillon—“Cinderella”—is the flagship white, from the estate’s oldest Sauvignon Blanc, made with low intervention and known for minerality and pure fruit.

Wine Introduction:
Cendrillon Blanc 2022 is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from 2.5 hectares of biodynamic vines planted in 1979 on wind-blown sand over flinty clay, facing south-southeast. Grapes are pressed slowly for about three hours, fermented with native yeasts, then aged roughly one-third in old 500L barrels and the rest in tank. Often bottled unfiltered with low SO2, the oak adds texture without masking variety or terroir—a benchmark natural Touraine Sauvignon.

Tasting Notes:
Nosing: Citrus, white peach and gentle herbs, with linden blossom and flinty mineral.
Palate: Fresh and mineral, with fine acidity, pure fruit and a lightly layered texture.
Finish: Elegant and long, with a saline, clean close.
