Domaine Genot-Boulanger Meursault Clos du Cromin 2022 - 750ml

Estate History:
Génot-Boulanger is based in Meursault under Guillaume and Aude Levollée, farming organically and biodynamically. Clos du Cromin is their original Meursault holding, near the village and next to Santenots: a former quarry, clay over limestone slabs. Vines date from 1936, the 1970s and 1992. Whites are whole-cluster pressed, native-yeast fermented, barely bâtonnés—precision and mineral over heavy butter.

Wine Introduction:
2022 was warm and even; Guillaume called it one of his easiest years since 2008, alcohols naturally around 12.5%. This site runs to overripeness, so it was picked on the first day of the white harvest, over two days. Whole-cluster press, barrel ferment, modest new oak, then steel for tension. Decanter 93, Vinous 89–91. Versus the leaner 2021, 2022 has more honey and density, still with lemon-salt and a useful reduction. Village wine that often challenges premiers crus.

Tasting Notes:
Nosing: Lime, nectarine and white flowers, a flicker of reduction.
Palate: Crystalline fruit, lemon and fine salt, a honeyed texture.
Finish: Long, with extract and wet stone.
