Producer History:Domaine Sautereau is a family estate in Crézancy-en-Sancerre in the Loire Valley, now run by David Sautereau, the tenth generation of a lineage dating back to 1683. The 22-hectare domaine spans diverse soils including Caillottes, Terres Blanches and Terres Rouges, and has recently transitioned to organic farming, producing precise, fruit-driven Sancerre wines.

Wine Introduction:Domaine Sautereau Sancerre Rouge 2023 is a pure Pinot Noir primarily from iron-rich Terres Rouges soils with limestone influence. Partially aged in oak for around 12 months, it retains bright red fruit and mineral freshness. The wine is lively and elegant – a refined expression of Sancerre’s lesser-known red Pinot Noir style.

Tasting Notes:Aroma: Fresh red berries – cherry and raspberry – with soft spice.Palate: Juicy and vibrant with cherry, cranberry, bright acidity and fine tannins, plus mineral notes.Finish: Medium-long with lingering red fruit and mineral freshness.
