Edradour 25 Year Old "Batch 002" Sherry Cask - 70cl/55.6%

Distillery History:
Edradour sits near Pitlochry in Perthshire. Licensed in 1825, it is one of Scotland’s smallest traditional farm distilleries, still running tiny pots, wooden washbacks and worm tubs. It is independent under Andrew Symington’s Signatory. The spirit is robust and takes long sherry well. Batch 2 belongs to the official aged Small Batch line.

Whisky Introduction:
Full 25 years in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts; seven casks married and bottled in 2024 at 55.6%, non-chill-filtered, natural colour. Drier and older than the 18-year Amarone or 10-year PX anniversary: fruitcake and old oak rather than sticky PX. Wooden presentation box. About 90 on Whiskybase—a heavy-sherry, high-age farm malt.

Tasting Notes:
Nosing: Raisin, fig, dark chocolate, orange peel and polished oak, with tobacco and leather.
Palate: Oily and full—plum, toffee, fruitcake, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Finish: Long and warm—sherry, dark honey and oak spice.
