With roots dating back to 1692, Domaine François Buffet is a historic family estate in the Côte de Beaune, now run by eighth-generation Marc-Olivier Buffet. The domaine manages around 8 hectares, primarily in Volnay and Pommard, with holdings in top sites like Pernand-Vergelesses. Generations of traditional winemaking focus on terroir-driven, elegant Pinot Noir with purity, finesse and balanced structure.

Wine Introduction:The 2023 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Vergelesses comes from the appellation’s renowned clay-limestone slopes. The strong 2023 vintage brings concentrated fruit and vibrant acidity. Partially aged in new oak, it delivers classic black cherry, red fruit and spicy minerality – a refined, powerful yet elegant expression of the cru with excellent ageing potential.

Tasting Notes:Aroma: Elegant with black cherry, red berries, violet, five-spice and subtle earthy minerality.Palate: Medium-bodied – rich red and black fruits, spice, fine tannins and bright acidity.Finish: Long and fresh, lingering cherry, mineral and gentle oak.
