Distillery History:Glengoyne Distillery was founded in 1833 in the Scottish Highlands near Glasgow. Known for the slowest distillation in Scotland and its unpeated style, the distillery relies heavily on European oak sherry casks. The 21 Year Old was a flagship expression in the core range during the early 2010s.

Whisky Introduction:This Glengoyne 21 Year Old is an older bottling from around 2013-2014, matured exclusively in first-fill European oak sherry casks for 21 years and bottled at 43%. It delivers rich dried fruit, dark chocolate and warm spice – a classic expression of Glengoyne’s sherried Highland style from that era.

Tasting Notes:Nosing: Rich sherry with raisins, figs, dark chocolate, cinnamon, Christmas cake and soft apple.Palate: Rounded and oily – dried fruits, toffee, nuts, spice and fine oak with balanced sweetness.Finish: Long and warm with lingering cinnamon, black pepper, chocolate and soft oak.
