Distillery / Brand history:Suntory was founded by Shinjiro Torii in 1899; the Yamazaki Distillery, Japan’s first malt whisky distillery, was established in 1923. Hibiki was launched in 1989 to mark the company’s 90th anniversary, blending malt and grain whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita to emphasise harmony and balance. The no-age-statement Japanese Harmony expression was introduced in 2015.

Whisky notes:This is the Hibiki Japanese Harmony 2026 Limited-Edition Chiso Collaboration. Created with the Kyoto kimono house Chiso (founded in 1555), it features a reimagined 24-faceted bottle using yuzen dyeing techniques and floral motifs of tachibana, kiri, sakura, ume and tsubaki. The liquid is the standard Japanese Harmony blend from Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita, bottled at 43% ABV.

Tasting notes:Nosing: honey-like sweetness, candied orange peel and white chocolate.Palate: rose, lychee, a hint of rosemary, with mature woodiness and sandalwood.Finish: subtle, tender and long, with a hint of Mizunara Japanese oak.
