Distillery History:Kavalan Distillery was founded in 2005 in Yilan, Taiwan. As Taiwan’s first whisky distillery, it uses local water and the hot climate for rapid maturation, producing tropical fruit-forward whiskies with high quality single cask releases. The Solist series highlights individual casks.

Whisky Introduction:The Kavalan Solist Brandy Cask is a single cask matured in brandy casks. Bottled at natural strength without chill-filtration, it combines rich dried fruit, spice and sweetness with Kavalan’s signature tropical fruit and vanilla notes – an excellent exploration of different cask types.

Tasting Notes:Nosing: Rich fruit with tropical fruit, dried fruits, spice and brandy sweetness.Palate: Oily and full – tropical fruit, honey, cinnamon, vanilla and gentle oak with good balance.Finish: Long, warm and lingering with fruit, spice and gentle sweetness.
