Distillery History:Kavalan Distillery was founded in 2005 in Yilan, Taiwan. As Taiwan’s first whisky distillery, it uses local water and the hot climate for rapid maturation, producing tropical fruit-forward whiskies with high quality single cask releases. The Solist series highlights individual casks.

Whisky Introduction:The Kavalan Solist Peated Whisky Hong Kong Exclusive is a single cask using peated malt matured in sherry or bourbon casks. Bottled at 53.2% natural strength without chill-filtration, it combines smoky peat with Kavalan’s signature tropical fruit and vanilla notes – a rare Hong Kong exclusive.

Tasting Notes:Nosing: Smoky fruit with peat, seaweed, smoked citrus, tropical fruit and vanilla sweetness.Palate: Oily and full – smoky bacon, citrus, dark chocolate, honey and vanilla with good balance.Finish: Long, warm and lingering with smoke, sea salt, citrus and gentle sweetness.
