Malfy Con Limone Gin - 70cl/41%

Distillery History:
Malfy is made by the Vergnano family’s Torino Distillati in Piedmont. The name comes from the Amalfi Coast; Con Limone is often treated as the earliest flavoured expression and the one that matches the place-name. Low-temperature vacuum distillation keeps citrus oils intact; spring water from the Monviso area cuts the spirit. Built for Mediterranean aperitivo and gin and tonic, not a heavy London Dry.

Gin Introduction:
Con Limone means “with lemon.” It uses Sfusato lemons from Amalfi and other sun-ripened Italian peels, with juniper, coriander, angelica, cassia, liquorice, orris and orange/grapefruit peel. After maceration it is distilled about five hours in a stainless vacuum still and reduced to 41%. Crystal clear. Official notes: zesty lemon, juniper behind, long and refreshing. Fruitier than Originale, uncoloured unlike Rosa and Arancia—the most direct lemon in the range.

Tasting Notes:
Nosing: Bright lemon peel and citrus oil, juniper behind.
Palate: Crisp and lightly sweet—lemon juice and bitter pith.
Finish: Medium-long, clean bitter peel.
