Producer History:Maison Marchand-Tawse was founded by Pascal Marchand (former winemaker at Comte Armand and Vougeraie) and Canadian investor Moray Tawse. The maison combines négociant sourcing with their own Domaine Tawse (9.5 ha biodynamic vineyards) to produce pure, terroir-driven wines across Côte de Nuits. Pascal’s experience brings elegance and precision to their portfolio.

Wine Introduction:The 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis “En la Rue de Vergy” comes from a high-altitude plot with shallow soils just above Clos de Tart. Using 80% whole-cluster fermentation, it showcases the site’s floral character and vibrant minerality. A strong vintage with excellent balance, this village wine offers finesse and ageing potential.

Tasting Notes:Aroma: Elegant and perfumed with red cherry, strawberry, violet, white pepper and subtle stony minerality.Palate: Medium-bodied – lively red and black fruits, spice and fine tannins with bright acidity and airy texture.Finish: Long and refreshing, lingering red fruit, white pepper and mineral notes.
