Pertois-Lebrun is based in Cramant on the Côte des Blancs. It was founded in 1955 by Paul Pertois and Françoise Lebrun, uniting vineyards from Cramant and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Now run by the fifth generation—brothers Clément and Antoine Bouret—the house focuses exclusively on Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs. It farms around 9.5 hectares across five Grand Cru villages: Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Chouilly, Oger and Oiry, all planted to Chardonnay. Organic and biodynamic principles are applied to preserve soil microbiology and express pure terroir.
Pertois-Lebrun L'ambitieuse Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Extra Brut NV is a non-vintage Champagne made from 100% Chardonnay sourced from Grand Cru plots in Chouilly and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. It blends the vibrancy of the base vintage with perpetual reserve wines for balance, maturity and aromatic complexity. Only first-press juice (cuvée) is used, with partial oak aging, no fining or filtration, and Extra Brut dosage (approx. 1-4 g/L). Bottle-aged 4-6+ years, it delivers an intense yet harmonious Côte des Blancs style.
Tasting Notes
Nosing: Delicate citrus and chalky mineral notes evolving into intense pastry, almond, fresh butter and nutty aromas, with ripe almost stewed fruit undertones—layered and complex.
Palate: Generous and lively with soft, fine effervescence; beautiful balance between lemony and chalky acidity, revealing tender fruit and elegant texture.
Finish: Persistent and harmonious with a saline touch; long, clean and energetic. A refined, complex Champagne ideal as an aperitif or with seafood and goat cheese.
