Producer History:Philippe Lancelot is a fifth-generation grower-producer based in the Côte des Blancs (Cramant and Chouilly). The estate has practised biodynamics since 2012 and holds Demeter and Biodyvin certification. Focused on single-vineyard expressions and low-dosage Champagnes, Lancelot crafts precise, mineral-driven Blanc de Blancs that highlight pure terroir.

Wine Introduction:Philippe Lancelot Fond du Bateau Extra Brut Grand Cru 2019 is a 100% Chardonnay Blanc de Blancs from the single parcel “Fond du Bateau” in Chouilly Grand Cru (below Montaigu). Vinified partly in oak and tank with an Extra Brut dosage of about 2.75 g/L, it is a rare, pure expression of Côte des Blancs chalk soils – fresh, mineral and gastronomic.

Tasting Notes:Nosing: Fresh citrus (lemon, grapefruit), pear, light brioche and wet-stone minerality.Palate: Silky and pure with bright acidity, clean fruit and intense chalky mineral tension.Finish: Long and mineral with lingering citrus zest and chalk.
