Distillery History:Linkwood was founded in 1821 near Elgin in Speyside, renowned for its elegant, fruity and floral style with clean malt character from traditional floor malting and slow distillation. Owned by Diageo, most spirit goes into blends with limited official single malts. Independent bottler Signatory Vintage, established in 1988, specialises in premium casks. Its 100 Proof Edition series bottles at fixed 57.1% ABV, undiluted, un-chillfiltered and natural colour to showcase Linkwood’s refined depth.

Whisky Introduction:This Signatory Vintage 100 Proof Edition #72 matured 14 years in 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry Hogsheads and Refill Hogsheads. Bottled in 2026, it pairs Linkwood’s signature orchard fruits, honeyed malt and floral notes with rich dried fruits, caramel and spice from the sherry casks, delivering a rich yet balanced Speyside profile.

Tasting Notes:Nosing: Fresh orchard fruits, vanilla pod, honeyed malt, citrus peel and gentle oak spice.Palate: Rich and oily – sweet barley, green apple, caramel, toasted almonds and warming pepper.Finish: Long, balanced and elegant with lingering fruit, spice and soft oak.
