Glen Ord Distillery was founded in 1838 by Thomas Mackenzie on the Black Isle in the Scottish Highlands, on land held by Clan Mackenzie for nearly 700 years. Its motto “Luceo non uro” (I shine, not burn) reflects the emphasis on slow, careful distillation. Now owned by Diageo, it has produced The Singleton of Glen Ord since 2006, primarily for Asian markets, known for its rich, fruity and well-balanced single malts.
Nosing:Leather, nutty and creamy notes with lovely milk chocolate, followed by honey sweetness, caramel and a hint of pine.Palate:Smooth and mouth-filling with caramel toffee sweetness, orange peel sourness and warming complex spices.Finish:Long, warming and increasingly spicy, lightly drying with milk chocolate aftertaste. Elegant and balanced Highland character.
