Distillery History:Founded in 2006 in Norfolk by the Nelstrop family, St. George’s Distillery was England’s first modern single malt distillery. Known for triple distillation producing a clean, fruity style. The Small Batch series highlights special cask influences; this Sherry Butt Release 1 marks the distillery’s first use of large sherry butts for richer character.

Whisky Introduction:The 2013 Sherry Butt Small Batch Release 1 was distilled in November 2013 and bottled in February 2022. Matured in sherry butts, it combines the distillery’s light triple-distilled spirit with delicate dried fruit and sweet toffee notes – a limited edition of only 2850 bottles showcasing English whisky’s sherry potential.

Tasting Notes:Nosing: Wonderful dried fruits with rich raisin and fig notes.Palate: Inundated with chocolate, bitter orange and sticky toffee pudding.Finish: Long, sweet with lingering caramel, dried fruit and gentle spice.
