Distillery history:The Glenlivet Distillery was founded in 1824 by George Smith in Speyside and was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to receive a legal licence. It is known for a smooth, fruit-forward style and has long been a representative Speyside producer, emphasising balance and approachability.

Whisky notes:This is The Glenlivet 12 Year Old Provence Edition, a limited release in the Beyond Speyside series. A portion of the whisky was selectively finished in French wine casks, including Château Sainte Marguerite (Provence Cru Classé), Rivesaltes and Sauternes. Bottled at 40% ABV, it is the first Glenlivet expression to use French white wine casks.

Tasting notes:Nosing: white peaches in syrup, toasted almonds and delicate floral meadow aromas.Palate: juicy nectarines, with layers of vanilla crème brûlée, marzipan and white chocolate.Finish: warm floral honey, complex and ultra-smooth.
