Winery history:Bodegas Valdespino traces its origins to 1264, when Alonso Valdespino was granted land in Jerez. The modern company was established in 1875 and acquired by Grupo Estévez in 1999. It is known for traditional solera ageing, single-vineyard sites, and high-quality VOS and VORS ranges.

Wine notes:This is Valdespino Don Gonzalo Oloroso VOS, made primarily from 100% Palomino from Carrascal. It is fully oxidatively aged in a solera system with an average age of over 20 years (VOS category). It is a dry-style Oloroso, running parallel to the lightly sweetened Solera 1842.

Tasting notes:Nosing: toasted almonds, hazelnuts, caramel, dark chocolate and cigar leaf.Palate: intense and full, bone-dry with bright acidity, layers of nuts, raisins and spice.Finish: long and elegant, with a touch of bitterness and warm woody close.
